For the construction of the Hamburg America CentRMP Richard Meier & Partners, New York, PSP's esponsibility was the implementation planning. The task was to implement the existing design in a technically and structurally sound manner.
The building is located in HafenCity at Sandtorkai near the Magellan Terraces. It has eight floors and combines various uses under one roof.
The ground floor and first floor are home to the eponymous Amerikazentrum Hamburg with seminar rooms, a lecture hall, coffee shop, library and conference areas. Due to the topography, the ground floor is designed as a split level. The dug-in part houses the central building services and sanitary facilities. The building has a complete basement, here are the necessary parking spaces, which are arranged on mechanical equipment.

From the 2nd to the 8th floor, office space with variable partitioning possibilities is offered. An internal connecting staircase also allows office use over several floors. On the 8th floor, all tenants have a roof terrace, which offers a fantastic view over the Traditional Ship Harbour and the ELPHI Elbe Philharmonic Hall.
The façade is designed as an all-glass system façade with openable wings. Partial areas are clad with white metal panels. The building is located in the flood-prone area up to a height of 7.5 m above sea level. Appropriate protective measures have been taken in the façade areas on the north and east sides by means of pressure-resistant glazing and dam beam systems.A special challenge in our work was to combine the constructional requirements with the precise specifications of the design architect. It was often necessary to combine five or six trades at one point of detail in order to meet the execution specifications.
