As part of the "Factory 2020+" project, Volkswagen AG developed a concept for sustainable and future-prooved vehicle assembly:

At the VW plant in Emden, the conveyor bridges FB001, FB002 and FB006 are being erected within the new MEB factory (MEB = Modular E-Drive Building Kit) as connecting structures in the central area of the plant between the existing halls.

The bridges are used exclusively for the internal material flow to transport components from hall to hall on load carriers, protected from the weather.
